Get To Know Bailey
1. What is your job title at TwentyTwo?
Marketing and Account Manager
2. Who or what inspired you to pursue the career that you have today?
Ever since I was little, I have always been creative. I loved writing and drawing, and so naturally, a career in marketing just made sense to me. Also Andi Anderson (Kate Hudson) in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days made me want to work in a cute office!
3. What do you like to do in your spare time outside of work?
I love going to pilates, going on long walks along the river, going to the markets, and the beach… basically just being outside!
4. You recently moved out of home! What is something that has surprised you about living in your own place?
How many things you actually need and take for granted when you live with your family. Every time I go to do something I realise it’s not there - basically how much stuff it takes to have a functioning home.
5. Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?
Travelling the world - literally anywhere, Europe first, then Mexico, then New York.
6. What is your favourite concert you have been to?
Might be controversial but Kanye West was really good! Or Tame Impala last year.
7. What is your go to comfort series?
Love Island - literally my fave!
8. What’s one thing you’re learning now or learned recently?
I have only recently started at Twenty Two, this is my third month, so I am still learning about the company and adjusting to this new environment.
9. What is the worst fashion decision you ever made?
Definitely back in the day when galaxy tights and jeggings were a trend.
10. If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or into the future?
I am all about not knowing the future, going with the flow, and seeing where life takes me! So, I would probably want to go back in time to being a child or a baby and see my parents when they were raising me.
11. What household chore do you dread the most?
Unloading the dishwasher, when I see it’s finished I always say I’ll do it later, but then later comes around… and I don’t wanna do it!
12. What is your idea of a perfect day?
My perfect day is a Sunday where I wake up early to beautiful, sunny weather with crisp air. I’d go for a long walk, get brunch, see my family or grandparents and then maybe an afternoon picnic.
Bailey and TwentyTwo
13. What was your first job?
McDonalds 🥲I remember working on the front counter register. And yes, the soft serve machine was always broken!
14. What is one thing that surprised you about working at TwentyTwo?
I love the team culture at TwentyTwo, which is a credit to Sarah and James. Everyone is so fun, lovely and supportive! Getting to be a part of a smaller, yet mighty team is also really refreshing.
15. If you could add anything at all to the TwentyTwo office, what would it be?
Some dogs in the office type scenario. An office pet would be the best!
16. What is your favourite brand at the moment?
I really like Crop Shop boutique (@csb), they’re an activewear company based in the Gold Coast. I love their marketing too, they recently went to LA and did this really cool marketing campaign.
17. If you could develop a new skill in 10 minutes, what would it be?
To become an expert in piano, I would love to be that person in those viral videos you see who plays the piano in a public place and stuns everyone!
18. Do you have a favourite marketing campaign or ad?
Honestly all the Uber Eats ads. The current one with Abbie Chatfield is good and the one with Kim Kardashian and Magda Szubanski was pretty funny.
Bailey's Words of Wisdom
19. Finish the sentence, “I’m still a work in progress when it comes to…”
Learning how to switch off!
20. How do you motivate yourself when you're feeling stuck or unproductive?
I usually would go and collaborate with the team and bounce my ideas off them. Getting other people's opinions and talking things out always helps me.
21. What is something interesting that you’ve observed while working at an agency?
Getting to work with different clients which all have different goals, ways of working and strategies, it has been really good to diversify my experience. Agency is so valuable because you learn so much, so quickly! It’s true when they say, no two days are the same!
22. What is your best piece of advice for someone looking to enter the marketing industry (a new graduate or someone looking for a career change etc)
For those who are still at uni, my biggest advice is to put yourself out there and get experience while you are still studying! If you don’t have any experience or are currently finding it difficult to find opportunities, you can always create your own experience. If you can’t find an internship you can always volunteer, create your own blog or create content to demonstrate that you are willing to learn and show initiative. This will ultimately back you up when you are looking for a job! With experience, it also helps you figure out what you actually like to do and narrow down your potential pathways.
